A Time for….

As I stated in my introduction, I’m the Queen of procrastination.  I love to follow all shiny objects and have sworn to leave no rabbit trail unexplored.  Yet, life often demands other things from me, like meeting a writing deadline, finishing a project for work, or clean clothes to wear.

This week I’m going to share a way, I’ve managed to rein in my focus on writing projects.  Writing Collages, this topic was also discussed on my writers group ago couple weeks.  There many shared how writing collages help spark creativity, which is true but I have found them a great focus tool.

While, I’m gathering pictures/objects for my collages, the story is brewing away in my mind.  Often I will see a picture that triggers a sub-story idea.  I cut it out and glue it on to my background.  Each collage I’ve done has been different.

Below is a picture of a collage I’m working on for romance/suspense WIP.

In this one, the heroine was being stalked, so I covered the board with eyes.

Each collage takes on its own personality just like the story/project it represents.   I don’t have a formula for this, it’s each project or writers own thing. But then again I figure if I could formulate this exercise then I wouldn’t need it.
